In this discussion, certified pharmacy technician & pharmacy operations supervisor Kyle Siebert shares his path to inpatient pharmacy & pharmacy leadership. Kyle has over eight years of varied experience as a pharmacy technician in community, home infusion, mail order, specialty, procurement, & adult & pediatric hospital settings. He discusses ways in which he enveloped himself in the profession by seeking out new opportunities of intrigue and following his authentic professional passions & innate hunger to learn. This has led him to leadership in the inpatient pharmacy setting.
In his current role, Kyle manages teams, streamlines workflows, & develops standard operating procedures–all with the goal of facilitating safe & efficient medication provision to patients receiving care within the institution. Overseeing the medication use process is an important responsibility to ensure safe, appropriate, & timely medication therapies for hospitalized patients.
Kyle also highlights & advocates for the evolving role of pharmacy technicians in leadership roles, specifically within the inpatient pharmacy operations space.
