Typically Walgreens pharmacies have a policy that syringes can only be sold to individuals who have a medication profile showing that they have a drug (like insulin) that must be injected. Iu2019m a left coast liberal and have always felt that syringes should be sold to ANYONE who wants a clean syringe, but Iu2019ve often been u201coutvotedu201d by provincial pharmacy managers who seem to think that theyu2019re the u201csyringe police.u201d Iu2019ve even observed pharmacists/pharmacy managers refuse to sell syringes to someone who has come to the pharmacy for their spouse or significant other (whou2019s diabetic or injects testosterone) and thatu2019s just simply POOR customer service. I got in trouble once for selling a 10-pack of syringes to a fellow whose diabetic wife didnu2019t have a Walgreens profile because she shopped at CVS and sheu2019d traveled to Atlanta with her insulin, but not her syringes. A horrible policy.
